Integrated support for converged PSTN and VoIP networks
The VSR1000 platform used in conjunction with the Reservationless Conference software option facilitates the smooth deployment of a conference service over both PSTN and VoIP networks - allowing service providers to protect their investment as they move from PSTN to next generation network infrastructure.
Full featured conference functionality
The VSR1000 Conference Service supports the full range of participant conference controls and several conference modes. The following self-directed conference modes are supported:
Conversation Mode: an open, un-muted conference in which all participants can speak freely. This is the normal conference mode where everyone on the conference has an equal ability to participate.
Presentation Mode: the system mutes participant members of a conference (those who entered the participant access code), enabling conference participants to listen to the host(s) (those who entered with the host access code). This mode works best with large groups of conferees for reducing background noise.
Q&A Mode: the system mutes participant members of a conference, while allowing the host(s) to speak and be heard by everyone. Muted participants may un-mute themselves by pressing a touch-tone.
Comprehensive, carrier quality conferencing at the lowest cost
The VSR1000 Reservationless Conference Service is a complete service offering requiring no external hardware or software support. System capacity can support rapidly changing traffic patterns by dynamically adjusting resources to PSTN and VoIP connections. Carrier quality conferencing is accomplished though patented software algorithms - facilitating the highest quality at the lowest cost.
The VSR1000 supports the generation of call detail statistics to enable flexible billing models and tiered service offerings. OAM&P capabilities are equally extensive; all aspects of PSTN, VoIP, service management, logging, and application control are configurable via an extensive CLI interface. Remote network management and monitoring is accomplished via SNMP along with telco style alarm reporting.
Conference recording
The VSR1000 has integrated conference recording and playback capabilities. You may now offer recording services without the added expense of third party service providers. Users can generate multiple recordings and offer them for playback, boosting service provider revenue. Recordings are stored on industry standard NFS servers increasing flexibility and reducing costs.
Next Gen Provisioning and Conference Management Tools
Next generation tools are employed to implement user provisioning and moderator conference controls. Provisioning is implemented with standard SQL database servers and a rich Java/TomCat web user interface. Gone are they days of proprietary APIs and non-scalable solutions inherent in past-gen equipment. Service providers are free to use the ThinkEngine provisioning system as-is, or to extend it using open XML/SOAP interfaces.
End users enjoy our next-gen approach as well. The ThinkEngine reservationless conferencing service includes a full web user interface (Live Conference Viewer) for conference moderators. Moderators have complete conference management capabilities allowing them to effectively service their conferences without using DTMF commands. The Live Conference Viewer is fully brandable, allowing a consistent user interface presentation to users.
